GENERAL SUMMARY
Provides engineering for design and installation of audiovisual systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Audiovisual System Engineering & Documentation
Provide detailed research, design and engineering to produce documentation for installation of audiovisual systems. Typical documentation may include schematic signal flow diagrams, bill of materials, facility design drawings, projection geometry details, and detailed wiring diagrams for audio and control systems.
2. Peer Reviews
CTSI engineers participate in peer review processes to ensure the quality and consistency of CTSI engineering work. The peer review process occurs at several phases throughout a project depending on the complexity of the audiovisual system design.
3. Client Meetings
Attend client meetings during various phases of the project to participate in discussions for installations of audiovisual systems. Engineers may be required to create and provide presentations to clients on engineering and system design concepts. CTSI engineers must be able to explain complex technical issues in a straightforward manner.
4. System Testing
CTSI maintains a high standard for system testing and quality assurance. Engineers must participate in certifying audiovisual systems for proper performance. Engineers will perform and supervise testing procedures for in house integrating and following the on site installation. Engineers will document all testing procedures noting any deficiencies to be corrected.
5. System Calibration
CTSI engineers will participate in final calibration of audio, video and control systems during final installation.
6. Pre-Sales Support
CTSI engineers will participate in developing proposals and estimates for clients with the CTSI sales department. CTSI engineers will participate in developing statements of work, bills of materials, rough order of magnitudes, and needs analysis documents. The pre-sales support responsibilities will require meetings with CTSI’s clients.
7. Professionalism & Teamwork
Engineers are expected to display a high degree of professionalism and teamwork skills. A high level of respect is required for clients and coworkers while solving complex technical and logistical problems.
8. Attendance
Engineers will comply with work scheduling and attendance requirements according to reasonable policy and practices.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Ability to design, engineer, and install audiovisual systems for facilities such as conference rooms, video teleconference rooms, presentation rooms, training facilities, command centers, network operation centers, and theaters.
2. Strong leadership skills and the ability to participate in and lead small project teams.
3. Experience with diverse audiovisual technologies including but not limited to video projection, audio reinforcement, control systems, CATV, intercom, paging, Ethernet and TCP/IP network design, networked media technologies, video teleconferencing, audio conferencing, wireless systems, video broadcast and video production
4. Strong proficiency with software applications for word processing and spreadsheets.
5. Excellent skills in written contract documentation and verbal communication.
6. Intermediate to advanced experience with AutoCAD 2002 – 2006 for developing audiovisual flow diagrams and overlaying audiovisual details on architectural drawings.
7. Advanced experience with design and programming for audiovisual control systems such as Crestron or AMX.
8. Intermediate experience with networking design and network engineering. CTSI engineers must be able to apply networking skills to systems other than desktop computing environments. Strong experience with multicasting and VTC over IP networks is desired.
9. Ability to design, install and troubleshoot secure VTC systems. Engineers must be able to design secure VTC systems to accommodate a variety of client requirements for data encryption and physical security.
10. Experience in developing architectural, mechanical, and millwork documentation for audiovisual systems during the design and contract documentation stages of a project.
Summary Minimum Education & Experience Required
Candidates should have 3-5 years experience in designing, engineering, and contracting commercial audiovisual systems. Certifications from audiovisual trade associations such as ICIA and NSCA are desired.

OTHER TESTING / LICENSES REQUIRED
1. Candidate should be willing to participate in obtaining a security clearance. Existing Secret, Top Secret, or SCI clearances a plus.
2. A criminal background check is required.
3. CTSI requires employment applicants pass an initial and then periodic drug test.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
A majority of the engineering work is conducted in a standard office working environment where the job is physically comfortable. A small percentage of hands-on engineering work is required during final testing and calibration. Light to moderate physical activity is required when troubleshooting equipment and hardware.
