Position Description


National trade association in Washington, DC has a unique opportunity for entry to mid-level analyst to manage the collection, processing, data quality audit, analysis and publishing of statistical information and dashboard reports for multiple programs within the paper industry.  The position provides the opportunity to have work published nationally and internationally. The individual in this position will be contributing to the organization at a high-level.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Manage the preparation and publishing of multiple periodic and monthly national and international statistical reports covering the paper industry. 
  • Implement data quality procedures for the collection and auditing of data. 
  • Analyze data for accuracy and completeness. 
  • Respond to questions from members about published data. 
  • Complete ad hoc research of data and information. 
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of software and procedures for data quality and system productivity.
 
Success Factors:
The selected individual will have strong problem solving and analytical abilities (background in statistics is not required). He/she demonstrate initiative and ownership, and will have the ability to balance multiple priorities with short deadlines. He/she will work well independently and in a team environment and will have the ability to communicate with many different personalities. He/she will also be comfortable working with data and computer information systems software.
 
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Pulp and Paper, or related field.
  • Three or more years of job experience with responsibilities pertaining to the functions of this position.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Power Point. 
  • Experience with databases and reporting software.
  • SQL or other programming experience preferred.
  • Experience with Business Objects preferred (training is available).
