Position Description

The Senior Analyst, Federal is both a public-sector market expert as well as a community representative for the Federal segment of INPUT’s business.  The Senior Analyst ensures the overall product quality, depth of analysis, and team cohesion.  The position is responsible for synthesizing federal business opportunity/organizational structure research to provide written market trending analysis, in-depth opportunity assessment and presentations.  The Senior Analyst will assist in providing cross-product industry knowledge.  The Senior Analyst will act as a liaison with both members and government officials.
 
The Federal Information Services team is in need of a highly motivated, self-starter who demonstrates success in a fast-paced work environment with team-oriented deadlines.
 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of the U.S. Public Sector marketplace and familiarity with Federal procurement or business development processes essential.  Web-based information product experience a plus.
  • Superior capability primary and secondary research techniques, including telephone and in-person interviewing, and deep data analysis skills essential. 
  • Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communications, including report-writing and PowerPoint presentations.  Keen attention to detail, including outstanding grammatical skills.
  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience in public sector acquisitions, marketing, data collection, business development, or government relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, organize multiple projects, and consistently meet team deadlines with high attention to quality.
  • Strong desire to work in a collaborative, team-based environment.  Demonstrated capability to assess and provide team-member training, development and mentoring.
  • Customer focus and ability to interact with members and government officials one-on-one and at public sector events.
  • Ability to learn, understand and utilize new software rapidly. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Proven commitment to academic and professional excellence.  Bachelor's Degree from a tier one school, GPA of 3.5 or higher or equivalent experience in public sector acquisition, data collection, business development or public sector analysis and research. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of the public sector technology procurement process (including Federal Acquisition Regulations – FAR) and/or business development (BD) cycle.
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The right candidate will be self-managing, highly organized, and a strong team-player.  Duties will vary day-to-day, but will include:
  • Conduct primary and secondary research to support Federal members.  Develop and execute research methodology geared toward department/agency specific trends and requirements.  Conduct interviews; perform broad and deep Web research; create reports, update Web-based product, publish analytical commentary and author presentations; and discuss findings.
  • Work collaboratively with other INPUT analysts to promote thought leadership and expand company knowledgebase.  Assist in market analysis, data synthesis, and report creation.
  • Create and deliver oral briefings to internal staff, external members, prospects and media representatives on federal trends and research.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments to ensure opportunities and analysis are accurate, current and forward-looking. 
  • Through in-depth department/agency understanding, assess and report on existing and future public-sector requirements and personnel.
 
  • Represent INPUT at public-sector industry events.  Engage in conferences, industry advisory groups, and activities to maintain and enhance INPUT’s reputation in the marketplace.
  • Conduct research, analysis and delivery of high-quality and timely responses member research inquiries regarding public-sector opportunities and initiatives.
  • Assist management in ensuring overall product quality and timeliness.  Provide staff-wide training and development to enable, facilitate and provide superior data collection and representation. 
  • Drive product accuracy and innovation through the innovation, presentation and implementation (as approved) of process/product improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
